Experts recommend using a splash of vinegar mixed with lime juice and water in your backpack and other washable essentials.

An obvious solution is to just throw your things in the washing machine. Your backpack and other items may be machine washable, but for those essentials that aren’t, Lysol is your friend.

Spraying the bag and other items, such as hiking boots, with Lysol will thoroughly disinfect them and remove any odor.

Simply spray and air dry before next use.

If your next outdoor adventure isn’t too early, experts recommend using kitten sand to deodorize your computer.

Even if you don’t have any furry friends at home, cat litter is cheap and easy to get.

And, needless to say, it has strong deodorizing properties.

Just throw your backpack and other items in a kitten sandbox, making sure it’s completely covered and leave it for a week.

You may need to clean it well afterwards, but stench will no longer be an issue.
